  • Welcome to the Elementary Life Skills Class!

I have been teaching Life Skills at Mifflinburg Elementary since 2009. I have my Master's Degree in Special Education from Bloomsburg University. I began teaching in 1999 and taught Early Intervention for the CSIU (special needs 3-5 year olds) for 10 years before coming to Mifflinburg Elementary in 2009. I live in Mifflinburg with my husband, Howie, and our children, Keely and Michael. In my spare time I volunteer as an EMT with the Mifflinburg Ambulance. I enjoy running, yoga, and spending time with my family and friends.

In my class we will spend time on a wide variety of things. We will be working on functional literacy, math, and writing skills. In addition we work on life/social skills, community based training, and fine and gross motor skills. My goal is to have my students leave my class with a wide variety of life skills to take with them to help them be successful young adults so a big focus in our classroom is understanding and following directions and working on communication skills. We will be doing a lot of hands-on learning experiences so that they are able to use the skills we are learning. I am very excited to be working with your child and look forward to a great year!
