Ms Renninger's Site

  • Welcome to my website!  I hope that you will find it useful and informative!

First, I would like to introduce myself.  I currently am , and have been for 15 years, a first grade teacher.  Prior to teaching in the public school setting, I worked in public and private child care centers, as well as Head Start.  I have a rich background in working with children of many ages and abilities.

My educational background began with Keystone Jr. College, receiving an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.  After working for several years at a local childcare center and taking some classes at Bucknell University,I returned back to school.  Millersville University gave me a dual Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.  I continued to work in the Early Childhood arena as a teacher and supervisor.  Again, I changed jobs.  This time to Mifflinburg Area School District.  I received a Master's degree in Educational Strategies from Wilkes University.

My hobbies include reading, music, gardening, basket making and pottery.  I have a dog, Ben, and a cat, Kaleha.  You will probably hear some stories about them throughout the year!

As a teacher for over 30 years, I  have had a lot of experience working with children and their parents.  I enjoy including the interests of the children into the First Grade curriculum.  I also like to include family members that may have  expertise in a particular curriculum area.

School should be lively and engaging.  The classroom can be a fun place to learn.  Along with that, I place high value on respect and responsibility.
