    First Grade

Hello! My name is Alexandra Martz. I am from Danville, currently living outside of Millville. My husband and I have 2 children, Harper and Jacob, as well as two dogs (Jethro and Riley) and a variety of poultry! As a family, we spend most of our time outdoors. When we are not exploring, we are gathered around our dining room table enjoying many board and card games.

I want to welcome you to my classroom! This is my 8th year educating and learning alongside children in a K-2 setting. I began my journey as a Kindergarten teacher. I then moved to working as an Autistic Support teacher for 5 years. To continue my professional journey, I spent one year as a Second Grade Teacher, and now have found a home in First Grade! I graduated from Bloomsburg University with dual Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Immediately after graduation, I pursued my Master's degree in Special Education. I also completed the coursework to obtain certifications in Middle School Language Arts and English as a Second Language. Finally, I also completed an Autism endorsement through Wilkes University. As you can see, my passion for education is very strong, not only to share my experiences and knowledge, but the drive to continue to strengthen them as well.

My passion for working with and educating children began at a young age. It is important that I understand each child in my classroom not just on an academic level, but it is also important that I meet their needs in many other areas as well. I involve my students in their own learning, we complete projects and experiments together, and we have a solid understanding of respect for each other and our education. This environment has been established through the use of positive reinforcement. Each day, my life is touched and changed by spending time with your children. Happy Learning!
