Welcome to Mifflinburg High School Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS)
Courses offered to our high school students include Parenting, Textile & Design, Advanced Textile & Design, "YOYO"(learning to live on your own). Students who wish to explore a career in early childhood education we offer Child Development, Advanced Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and a field experince course - Advanced Early Childhood Education with observation hours at area child care centers.

Family and Consumer Science classes are comprehensive courses designed to provide students with the core knowledge and skills needed to manage their lives. Project based instruction provides students with opportunities to utilize higher order thinking, communication, and leadership skills impacting families and communities. Concepts incorporate interpersonal relationships, career, community, and family connections, nutrition and wellness, consumer and family resources, parenting, and housing into relevant curriculum.

I am Mrs. Jennifer Haines one of two FCS teachers in the high school. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and I graduated from Albright College and I completed graduate work at Marywood University and earned my Masters Degree from California University of Pennslylvania. I am the co-supervisor for our FCCLA club. In my free time I enjoy quilting, reading, yoga, hiking with my husband, spending time with my new granddaughter, and walking my dogs.
